Naomi Daniluk
novelist

Necessity is the author of plot

From hiking Mount Vesuvius and Arenal Volcano to walking Hadrian’s Wall and the black sand shores of the Venezuelan coast, her experiences trekking the world have been a vital muse for Naomi’s creative writing endeavors. Consequently, her stories are infused with the exotic and often otherworldly.

She has collected a number of degrees and certificates from a Bachelors in Cinema and Photography (with minors in anthropology, religion, and Native American studies), to a Masters in Screenwriting from the National Film School of Ireland, to scuba, herbalism, and wildlife rehabilitation licenses. All as a single mother. Like any good character, her needs are what wrote her plot. Need to survive. Need to leave her preverbal pen mark on the world.

When not scribbling away, Naomi has explored a variety of day jobs. She's worked in a winery, high school, book arts center, visitor center (and got really good at drawing on maps upside down), college art museum, and antique shop. She has been a yoga instructor, marketing specialist, herbalist, bank teller, archeologist's apprentice, and candy shop girl. But through it all she has been a writer.

If you want to be a writer, write. If you want something to write about, live.
